Product Reviews
Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap, but it is elegant and well-constructed. It's easy to put together, though it does take two people, and it looks great in any nursery. The panel we tested loved the dark wood and the dowel sides. It's robust enough to be used until your baby is a toddler. It also meets British safety standards - the depth isn't too deep that your baby can climb out, and the distance between the slats shouldn't be more than 65mm. This should prevent their head from getting trapped. It is also necessary to buy a mattress, which costs an additional PS88.
The cot stands out because of its shape-shifting sleigh design. It's also very easy to put your baby in and out of this cot, which is a huge benefit. It's a little more expensive than other cot-beds, but our panel thought it was worth it for the design and durability.

This cot bed is available in either country pine or walnut finishes. It is suitable from birth. It has three useful mattress heights, meaning you can start your child starting with the base raised up to make it easier for them to access them during the day and the night, and then lower it as they increase in height. It has teething rails to ensure your child's furniture is protected as well as gums. When your child has grown out of their cot, you can easily change it into a junior mattress and then to a couch.
Silver Cross' westport design is another cot that has an incredibly solid feel and built to last. It can be used from birth as a cot, and later as toddler bed, and then a junior bed. (Toddler guard rail is available separately). Our panel of experts found it difficult to convert from cot to bed, however their other half thought it was a doddle and took less than five minutes to complete. It's also a tad more expensive than other cots but it's a style that you'd probably want to keep and use for your children as they grow.
